About me
Dr. Charito Cisneros is President and Founder of the New York Hispanic Cosmetology and Beauty Chamber of Commerce, the first organization of its kind dedicated to supporting Latino professionals and entrepreneurs in the beauty industry. For decades, she has worked to help aspiring salon owners, cosmetologists, barbers, and beauty professionals gain the education, licensing, business skills, and financial resources needed to succeed.
Originally from Ecuador, Cisneros built her career as a cosmetologist, educator, and entrepreneur before becoming a leading advocate for Latino-owned small businesses. After teaching cosmetology for more than 20 years, she founded the Chamber in 2007 to combat fraud, expand professional opportunities, and provide practical guidance on licensing, business development, marketing, and access to capital. Through partnerships with institutions such as Lehman College, she has helped create training and certification programs that have opened doors for hundreds of beauty professionals.
Beyond her work in business development, Cisneros has been an active community leader and philanthropist, supporting health initiatives, domestic violence awareness, and charitable efforts benefiting Latino communities in New York and abroad. Her leadership has consistently focused on empowering women and immigrant entrepreneurs to build successful businesses and stronger communities.
Throughout her career, Cisneros has remained guided by a simple belief: economic opportunity begins with education, entrepreneurship, and access to reliable information. Through her work, she continues to help Latino-owned businesses grow, create jobs, and strengthen neighborhoods across New York and beyond.
