About me
Ginny Mendez is a bilingual public policy professional, program manager, and longtime leader within the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the nation's oldest and largest Latino civil rights organization. Born and raised in Oak Cliff, Texas, and a first-generation college graduate, she has built her career around expanding opportunity for underserved communities while preserving the culture and history that define them.
As a Fellow of the Mexican American Legislative Leadership Foundation and a former Policy Analyst for the Texas House of Representatives, Ginny conducted legislative research, engaged stakeholders, and prepared daily floor reports and vote recommendations on issues affecting Texas families. Following the legislative session, she joined the Dallas district office of a State Representative, where she manages community initiatives, leads fundraising efforts, and coordinates events that provide free resources and essential services to constituents across the district.
Ginny earned her bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, where she developed a deeper understanding of the historical and political forces shaping Latino communities in Texas. She currently serves as Legislative Liaison for North Texas LULAC District III and as a member of LULAC's National Women's Commission, advocating for greater civic engagement and leadership opportunities for the next generation. Her commitment to public service has earned her recognition as LULAC National Young Woman of the Year (2024), District III Woman of the Year (2025), and Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority Alumna of the Year (2025), reflecting a career defined by service, leadership, and community impact.
