About me
Francisco Romero is one of the most respected voices in Spanish-language sports broadcasting. Now in his 19th season as the Spanish play-by-play broadcaster for the Houston Astros, he has called more than 2,000 Major League Baseball games, including eight no-hitters and a perfect game.
A trailblazer in sports media, Francisco is the only Spanish-language broadcaster to have called games for six different Major League Baseball organizations: the Arizona Diamondbacks, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, and Houston Astros. Alongside former Astros catcher Alex Treviño, he forms one of the longest-tenured Spanish-language broadcast teams in Major League Baseball.
A graduate of the University of Arizona, Francisco's distinguished career spans more than two decades in television and radio, covering some of the world's most prestigious sporting events, including the World Series, Super Bowl, NBA Finals, and NCAA Championships. His work has earned numerous honors, including an Emmy Award for sports reporting and induction into the Pueblo High School Media Hall of Fame.
Beyond the broadcast booth, Francisco has been recognized for his contributions to advancing Spanish-language sports media and has been featured in multiple books documenting the impact of Latino broadcasters in Major League Baseball. He continues to connect fans with the game through Astros broadcasts and digital media while serving as an influential voice for Hispanic communities across the country.
