About me
Jeanette Martinez serves on the Fort Worth City Council, representing District 11 as the first council member elected to the district and the first Latina ever elected to the Fort Worth City Council. A lifelong Fort Worth resident and dedicated public servant, she has built her career around strengthening neighborhoods, expanding economic opportunity, and ensuring local government remains responsive to the families it serves.
The proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, Martinez was born and raised in Fort Worth and is a product of the Fort Worth Independent School District. She earned a bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Professionally, she has devoted more than a decade to public service, serving as Chief of Staff to longtime Tarrant County Commissioner Roy Charles Brooks before joining the Tarrant County Auditor's Office. She also serves on the boards of several nonprofit and educational organizations, including Texas Wesleyan University.
As a member of the City Council, Martinez has focused on neighborhood revitalization, public safety, infrastructure improvements, economic development, and creating opportunities for working families. She believes local government works best when it listens to residents, builds partnerships, and delivers practical solutions that improve everyday life.
Whether advocating for her constituents at City Hall or serving through community organizations, Martinez has remained guided by a simple principle: strong cities are built by investing in neighborhoods, expanding opportunity, and ensuring every family has a voice in shaping the future of its community.
