About me
Representative Salman Bhojani represents Texas House District 92, serving communities across Tarrant County with a focus on economic opportunity, public education, healthcare, and protecting the rights of working families. An attorney, entrepreneur, and public servant, he made history in 2023 as one of the first Muslims and first South Asians elected to the Texas Legislature, as well as the first person of color to represent House District 92.
Born in Pakistan, Bhojani immigrated to Texas as a teenager and worked three minimum-wage jobs to help support his family while pursuing his education. His journey took him from convenience store cashier to successful small business owner, attorney, and elected official. After becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen, he earned degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas, Southern Methodist University, and Oxford University, before founding his own law practice specializing in business and real estate matters.
Before serving in the Legislature, Bhojani was elected to the Euless City Council, becoming the first person of color and first Muslim elected to office in the city's history, and later served as Mayor Pro Tem. In Austin, he has focused on strengthening the economy, expanding workforce opportunities, investing in public schools, and ensuring that government works for every Texan regardless of background or faith. His career reflects the belief that public service should create opportunity and remove barriers to success.
Whether advocating for constituents, practicing law, or mentoring future leaders, Bhojani has remained guided by a simple principle: the American dream should be within reach for everyone willing to work hard and give back to their community. His life and career stand as an example of the opportunities created through perseverance, education, and public service.
